Group info:

We offer parallel, simultaneously run groups so that you and your child / teen can attend groups at the same time.

Who:

Males and Females ages 13-17 with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other anxieties such as Panic Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

In this evidenced based treatment group, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) treatment modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention are utilized.

Anxiety is common, particularly relevant to adolescents given the many pressures they face today. However, when it becomes difficult to manage thoughts or control behaviors that only serve to perpetuate anxiety, intervention may be needed. In this group program, teens will learn practical and effective techniques to decrease symptoms including Relaxation training, Overcoming Negative Self-Talk, Changing Inaccurate or Mistaken Beliefs, and Increasing Self-Esteem.

There is a sense of community that exists in a well-run group. It can mean connecting with others who understand what you are experiencing and how you feel.

Participants are screened for group appropriateness to assure a cohesive milieu.
