Portland Anxiety Clinic

Intensive Outpatient Program

The Portland Anxiety Clinic is excited to announce the addition of our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP).

Program Descriptions

The intensive therapy programs at Portland Anxiety Clinic (PAC) are designed to help individuals suffering from anxiety and depressive disorders. We run two distinct specialized treatment tracks; one focused on anxiety conditions, traumatic stress, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), and body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRS; like hair pulling and skin picking). The second treatment track works with individuals who suffer from depression that has not responded well to traditional treatments.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (Typically 3 hours per day)

The highly specialized anxiety track utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with an emphasis on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Habit Reversal and Stimulus Control (HRT/SC) and is suited for adults, adolescents, and children. This individualized program provides a structured day using evidence-based practices to systematically manage the underlying challenges associated with hard to treat anxiety and related conditions. The depression track is well suited for individuals who have either tried other methods to manage depressive symptoms with little success or feel as though they need a more intensive treatment experience. This track is only for adults and treatment is focused on skill building and behavioral activation evidence-based practices that were specifically developed to work with hard to treat depressive symptoms. This group-based program provides a structured day using evidence-based practices.

Partial Hospitalization Program (Typically 6 hours per day)

The partial hospital level of care is ideal for individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, BFRBs, and/or related conditions who require more intensive treatment. Typically an individual enrolled in the partial program will attend a combination of exposure based therapy and skills training groups. This program also requires individuals to meet with a prescriber once a week during program hours.
